Vetra was established in 1927 on St. Louis Island in the middle of Paris, by Edouard Bereens. The company have always been involved in producing good quality , honest garments with their roots in traditional French Workwear. Edouard refused to make uniforms for the German army during the war and he and his family fled to Le Lude in west of France, where he started making uniforms for the resistance fighters. Today Vetra is run by Edouards grandson, Patrick, who continues to produce quality, honest garments which are made in France by Artisans. The new fight is now is against the onslaught of the generic and soullessness of big business which is taking over the world.
